The community of Burford, located in the seat of the County of Brant, is a well-respected and friendly rural town boasting a population of close to 2,000 residents. Burford is located twenty kilometers west of the City of Brantford along Highway 53, and twenty-five kilometers east of Woodstock, Ontario. It is approximately 100 km southwest of Toronto. The township of Burford includes the communities of Burford, Harley, Princeton, and Cathcart. Burford is the largest of these towns. The community was founded by Canadians of German, Dutch and British backgrounds.
It has been over 200 years since the first European settlers arrived in Burford Township. It certainly has community pride, it has become a prosperous, well-respected, and friendly rural community.
